Returns & Refunds
Your cancellation and statutory rights under UK law
This policy explains your legal rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
1. Change of Mind — 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
If you buy from us online (a “distance contract”), you have a legal right to cancel the contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
- The 14-day cancellation period starts the day after you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods.
- If your order contains multiple items delivered on different days, the period starts the day after the last item is received.
- You must notify us of your decision to cancel within those 14 days.
How to cancel
You can cancel by:
- Emailing us at romarscollection@gmail.com with your order number and a clear statement that you wish to cancel; or
- Using the model cancellation form at the bottom of this page; or
- Contacting us via the contact form.
Once you have notified us, you have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.
Return costs (change of mind)
Unless we have agreed otherwise, you are responsible for the cost of returning the goods when you cancel for change of mind. We recommend using a tracked service. We will provide a returns address when you contact us.
If we failed to tell you before you ordered that you would have to pay the return costs, then we must pay those costs.
Condition of returned goods
You may examine the goods as you would in a shop. If you handle them beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, and this diminishes their value, we may deduct that amount from your refund.
Refunds after cancellation
We will refund all payments received from you, including the standard delivery charge (but not any upgraded delivery you chose), within 14 days of either:
- receiving the goods back; or
- you providing evidence that you have returned the goods (e.g. proof of postage),
whichever is earlier. Refunds will be made using the same payment method you used, unless you agree otherwise.
2. Faulty, Damaged or Misdescribed Goods — Consumer Rights Act 2015
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be:
- of satisfactory quality;
- fit for purpose; and
- as described.
Within 30 days of delivery
If goods are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose, you have a short-term right to reject them and receive a full refund (including delivery costs). You do not have to accept a repair or replacement first.
After 30 days (and within six months)
You are entitled to a repair or replacement. If repair or replacement is not possible, fails, or is not provided within a reasonable time without significant inconvenience, you may claim a price reduction or reject the goods for a refund (which may be reduced to reflect use).
Return costs for faulty goods
If goods are faulty or not as described, we will cover the reasonable cost of return. Contact us first so we can arrange this.
3. Items That Cannot Be Cancelled (Exceptions)
The 14-day cooling-off right does not apply to certain goods, including (where relevant):
- Goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised;
- Goods that deteriorate or expire rapidly;
- Sealed goods that are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons if unsealed after delivery;
- Sealed audio, video or software if unsealed after delivery;
- Newspapers, periodicals or magazines (except subscription contracts).
We will make clear at the point of sale if a particular product is excluded from the cooling-off right.
4. How to Start a Return
- Contact us within the relevant period with your order number and reason for return.
- We will confirm the return and provide the returns address and any instructions.
- Package the goods securely, including all original packaging and tags where possible.
- Send the parcel using a tracked service and keep proof of postage.
- Once we receive and inspect the return, we will process your refund or replacement according to the rules above.
